It's outdoor Wednesday

OutdoorWednesdaylogo5

at a southern day dreamer

Go on over and see all the other wonderful outdoor pictures,
and be sure to say thanks to Susan for hosting.

Back to Basics

My sweet fella and i took Monday off and went for a hike.
The trail was two miles one way, down hill,
to the base of a falls.
Beautiful, and although work to our
untrained legs, very fun.

We found intriguing bits of nature along the way,
Like this huge fungus growing on a downed log.

And This gnarled root in the ground.
What do you see or imagine?

Beautiful scenery

Nature Finds

I found a little piece of lichen.
"Here hon, hold this so i can take a picture of it".

His Nature Find.
He turned around and picked this up.
"Now this is a nature find."
Thus the big smile while he's holding his.
Kind of a 'my nature find is bigger than yours' smile.

And here is what we found at the end of the trail.

There are two beautiful waterfalls.

We ate our picnic lunch, strolled,
contemplated, and just enjoyed the
sound of the rushing water hitting the rocks.

There is just something about being out in nature
that puts life into perspective.
The whole world seems to disappear,
as we slow ourselves down.
We stand in awe of the majesty of all
our Creator has made,
and we realize how small we really are.

Oh Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth.

Blessings, and His peace as you calm yourselves before Him.

Barbara, I really did enjoy your hike and the best thing is my legs don't hurt. I did miss out on the picnic lunch!

Hasn't our Northwest sunshine been a very welcomed surprise. I was beginning to wonder if summer was ever going to get here.
The weather has been such a distraction to me. It's hard to concentrate on blogging when I hear the birds singing, fountain waters dripping and my lawn furniture calling my name.
The perfect time for a hike too.
I probably would have brought that wonderful moss covered branch home for a craft project! ;D

Sweet wishes,
Sara
