Have Thine Own Way

My morning walks with God

While I was walking this morning,
I had the old hymn "Have Thine Own Way", in my mind.

The first verse goes like this:

"Have thine own way Lord,
Have thine own way.
You are the potter,
I am the clay.

Mold me and make me
After thy will
While I am waiting,
Yielded and still."

I realized I am not still very much of the time.

Matter of fact, most times I am on a dead run!!

Then, having the imaginative mind I do,
I pictured a potter at the wheel.
He is gently and seriously working on his creation.
Lovingly trying to shape it into what he wants it to be.

I pictured the round lump of clay.....

Suddenly jumping up, and running around,
having no clue where it was going,
or what it was doing,
just wild and out of control
out of the creator's hand.

Is that how I am Lord?
Are you trying to gently mold me,
but instead of calmly yielding to your loving hands,
I am running all over out of control??

Lord, help me to be yielded to your Spirit, and your will.
Help me to be quiet in your presence.

Mold me into what you want me to be.

Blessings on your day

Good word Barbara Jean! So true. Another song you might know that I can't remember the name of goes something like: "The Potter saw a vessel that had been broken by the wind and rain. He sought with so much compassion to make it over again. And I was that vessel that no one thought was any good. I cried Lord you're the Potter and I am the clay. Make me over again today." I am so glad that He made me over again. Blessings to you!

That was wonderful - what a great idea to think about - just let go and let God.

Yes...SO LOVE the old hymns..and I mean HYMNS.
My life seems that way at times.

But I have a dear friend who came to mind immediately when I read this..she is always in such a huge HURRY about EVERYTHING she does and when she gets to where we are going, she is in a hurry to LEAVE...and on to the next project.

She MUST slow down for me..as I am in my 70's..and she just much more than 60.
So GOD (and I) are working on her.

BTW...Thank you for visiting my blog.

Rose
